1960s Ford Concept Cars and the 1965 Mustang

This week’s look back at Mustang TV commercials and Ford promotional material I came across a really cool video on early 60s concept cars like the Cougar II and a station wagon that seems somewhat out of a cheap sci-fi movie. The video goes into the part the car stylist plays in the development of the car and how it goes from concept to reality with the Ford Mustang (interestingly enough called the Mustang II).

It’s so cool to look back upon the video things like clothes and hair styles and I’m not much older than the Mustang itself so where we have come from in the last 40 plus years is absolutely amazing. Pay close attention to the early version of a real crude type of what we would now consider almost standard equipment of a driving aid similar to today’s GPS driver assistant, it will blow your mind hokey with a capital H.

It is a wonder where we have come from in the last 40 years and just how far we have yet to go. Hope you get a kick out of this one and if you were born after 1980 try not to laugh at your parents and grandparents to much, someone had to think of it first. If you get a chuckle out of this I would hate to tell you what the video player in my 6th grade class looked like and we were fortunate to even have one most schools didn’t. Enjoy.
